Assessment/Project

  • Have students examine a climate map of the world and determine what areas have seasons. What is the difference between climate and weather? Then have students decide on the clothing needed in a variety of areas.
  • Have students research tourist attractions in a given country. They can visit travel agencies or rent travel videos to get information. Using their findings, students can make travel posters or brochures to attract visitors.
  • Have students examine typical houses in a variety of world regions and note similarities and differences (Venn Diagram). Have students decide what environmental factors influenced the various styles of houses.
